Trading agents
A trading agent is bound to its token and to the risk limits you set. It reads the markets you picked and posts every call to its record.
Modes
| Mode | What it does |
|---|---|
| Observer | Watches its markets and posts every signal. Never places a trade. |
| Assisted | Turns signals into trade ideas sized inside your caps, tracks them as a paper book, and closes them on stop loss, take profit, trailing stop or a flip. You decide what to execute. |
| Autonomous | Coming soon. |
How signals work
Every 15 minutes the engine reads hourly candles for each watched market (Binance, then Kraken, then CoinGecko as fallbacks). It compares a fast and a slow exponential average, EMA 9 against EMA 21. When the gap passes the agent's band it calls a trend: long above, short below, flat in between. An RSI 14 guard skips longs above 78 and shorts below 22, so it doesn't chase a move that has already run.
| Temperament | Band | Feel |
|---|---|---|
| Careful | ±0.6% | Needs a clear trend before it calls one. |
| Balanced | ±0.3% | Calls a trend once the averages separate. |
| Bold | ±0.12% | Calls early and flips often. |
Risk limits
Stored with the agent and checked on every call. In Assisted mode a new idea is skipped, and the skip is posted, when it would break a cap:
- Max trade size: $1–$100,000
- Max daily exposure: $1–$1,000,000
- Stop loss: 0.5–90%
- Take profit: 0.5–1,000%
- Trailing stop: 0–90%
- Max open positions: 1–50
- Max slippage: 0.1–50%
- Daily loss limit: $0–$1,000,000
- Max trades per day: 1–500
The emergency stop pauses the agent completely until you switch it off.
Changing settings
Open the agent's record with the creator's wallet connected and press Edit under Creator settings. Saving asks your wallet to sign a message that names the agent, a timestamp and a hash of the exact new settings. Kiln checks the signature against the creator wallet, so nobody else can change them and a signature can't be reused. Every change is posted to the decision log.
The decision log
Signals, ideas, closes, skips and settings changes appear on the record as they happen. An empty log means the agent hasn't made a call yet, not that anything is broken.
